What am I doing wrong?

So, I'm feeling frustrated. I'm not weighing myself, out of fear that I'll not see much change and just give up. I've beeing trying to stick to the 1200-1400 calorie diet and my goal is to do 300 mins of exercise weekly. My diet, I try to make higher in fiber and protein, low carbs, and trying to make my own food. For exercise I swim, every other day for around 60 mins and on the other days I do the treadmill and/or elliptical for 60 mins. I only take 2 days off a week, Thursdays and Saturdays, but maybe I should be working out everyday.
I don't wanna quit my hardwork and I keep telling myself that "Rome wasn't built in a day", but I have to be honest, I'm getting frustrated.
Help me, MFPers, WHAT am I doing WRONG?

First off, it sounds like you are doing well.
But why do you think you're unsuccessful? If you haven't weighed yourself, have you measured?
How long have you been doing this?
Sounds like you are having a mini freak out, which I recently did. You have to remind yourself that it's gonna take time. A lot of people told me when I started to wait 6-8weeks to really see any changes. Especially if you are going from not being active to extremely active.0 -
Have you ever thought about adding weights in to your routine? Lifting (or even some other resistance, like yoga or pilates) a couple of times a week can lead to the body transformation you want. It does take time (as does everything), but the end result is great.0

Both of the ladies replies earlier are excellent. You ARE doing great and it DOES take time, unfortunately. Cardio and adding weights to your exercise routine is a great idea. Swimming is one of the best exercises you can do as well...coming from a competitive swimmer for over 15 years. Just hang in there and keep on keepin'!!! Also, there is a really cool unconventional cardio workout that I just started doing. Here is the pdf that you can print to log your workout. I really like it because it doesn't require a gym.
