I'm losing at a steady rate, long way to go still but I've lost 17 pounds in 6 weeks by watching calories and portion size. Not really doing much in the way of exercise yet as I have to wait for medical clearance from my pulmonary specialist

I've been on since Feb and I've lost a little over 50 pounds. (the first 30 were before MFP and that took over a year.)

I am doing great, but you have to stay with it. If you do it for 21 days it becomes a habit. Don't forget to excercise and don't get down on yourself if you fail one day. Just get back on the horse and keep riding. Good luck.

I've lost 65 pounds and right now I'm trying to maintain which is almost as hard as loosing weight in my opinion. Maybe not, but I'm trying to make sure the scale doesn't creep back up on me! Its scary! Ha ha! It took me 10 months to loose the weight and let me tell you: The first three months were the HARDEST! I know that is usually the opposite but my body just kind of needed time to get into the groove of things! I just posted my success story here:

But you can do this girl! Anyone who can have 4 kids and even attempt a diet is a angel in my book! :o)

I've lost 33 pounds in 4 months. Watching portions and staying at 1200 calories daily (most days). Doing P90X 5-6 days a week. I've lost 2 clothing sizes as well. Just stick with it. One bad day doesn't have to ruin all of the others.

Been here 3-4 months, can't remember exactly. I've lost 18 lbs, reached my goal of 130 by October. :) Did it all with hard work and determination. It is possible.

I have 3 kids, and it is not easy, but YOU ARE WORTH IT. When I first started this journey, I exercised vigorously and restricted my calories. And you can do anything for exercise. Fortunately, I have a treadmill and some borrowed p90x dvds. I used them religiously for the first 4 or 5 months. Once I was within 10lbs of my goal weight, I eased up on working out and just counted calories. When I got bored with that, I exercised some more. You can just count calories, but working out will tone you up and release those endorphins!! :) As you know with kids, it can be more effort to try to get alone time than it is to workout, so you need to figure out what works for you. Good luck!! :)

i've only lost 8 lbs but i've only been here around three months, this site is great! my suggestions are not to use any pills and just stick with it. exercise, eat well, and DONT beat yourself up about days you may go a little over. remember 100 calories wont make you gain 100 lbs. and you can always make up for it the next day ^__^ find some super positive friends on here and soon you'll be super addicted to this site! GOOD LUCK! :flowerforyou:

i've lost about 7lbs since the beginning of september. not a whole lot, but i don't have much too lose anyways. i was doing really good at exercising then went on a mini vacation, got sick and now i am off the track. but i still have lost despite not exercising. small steps and taking one day at a time helps me when i overeat or eat anything i am not suppose to.

I have lost 34lbs in just over 5 months and I feel fantastic!! I agree that the success stories in the forum are really motivating and request all the people you feel motivated by as your friend. IT makes all the difference to have other people encouraging you on a daily basis even if it is just a WTG!! on staying under your calories.

    GOOD LUCK!!!

I started logging my food and working out regularly on the second week of January. I followed the websites recommendations fairly closely and lost 28 lbs in 28 weeks. My original goal was 145, but I changed it twice and I currently am at 132. It really does work if you stick to it and be honest with yourself. good luck!

Let's see, in January I weighed 255lbs. Went on my own weight loss porgram, by trying to just portion control. Started here March 18th, at 247lbs. First 2 months weight came off quickly. I found that sodium is worse on me then calories. I must keep that sodium down. I have had a extremely large hernia the whole time, so my exercise was limited to walking and riding a bike. Walking, I wasn't supposed to go over 2.5, but I did more sometimes when comfortable with it. I had hernia surgery on 9/27 at 175lbs. With all the sodium they put in ya IV wise, and the gas for blowing up my belly, I went back to 190lbs within 1 week. But, I thought wohoo, all fixed, soon I can start really exercising. WRONG! They left a small hole without mes and 13 days later I was in the ER, in extreme pain, with hernia back. I was back to 184lbs then. Surgery again on 10/13, at 183lbs, but hernia fixed again. This morning I weighed back in at 178lbs, so it's coming back of quickly. I plan on starting my Saturday weigh ins back up this Saturday as I am now back walking really slow, 20 minutes a day. COMMITMENT, DETERMINATION, AND NOOOO CHEATING is how I did it. I have been obese for over 28 years, until now. I weighed, measured, and tracked everything very strictly the first 6 months. I'm not as strict now, but I am here everday, and always in my calorie range. I have 18 holes in my belly now, but I can do this. Feel free to look at my pics, hernia and all there. Goodluck, stick to it, and let me know if I can help in anyway!
