Anyone want to attempt the 17 day diet with me? A few of my coworkers have done this diet with amazing results. I want to do it, but need moral support. If you're interested add me as a friend and we can attempt this challenge together.

I bought the book a while back and just never started - I was just thinking maybe I would give it a go. I think there's an app for it on Iphone too.0

I keep trying, but boy is it hard not to eat any carbs.0

I applaud your attempt to lose weight, but quick fix diets tend to lead to even quicker setbacks and rebounds. I just don't see the point in doing a diet for 17 days if you will be unable to sustain it for the long-term, especially diets that implore heavy restrictions of certain foods or whole food groups.
Losing weight and maintaining a healthy lifestyle for the long-term is all about balance. Focus on making a lifestyle change. Unless you have a medical reason to avoid certain foods or food groups, all foods can be enjoyed in moderation and with self control. Log your calories, even plan for the day in advance if you need to, but start a plan that you can honestly see yourself continuing for a year, 5 years or your lifetime.0 -
Its not a 17 day diet. They really misnamed this book as it lead everyone to believe it is 17 days of quick loss. Its actually based on 17 days of cycles and there are 4 cycles and the last cycle is eating all the food groups and putting your learning in the earlier cycles of eating everything in moderation. Your weight loss is not quick and it is very healthy and sustaining. The first phase it based on trying to get you off of eating processed carbs such as breads and pasta. You can eat carbs - just real food carbs such as fruit.
I applaude those who can just log and lose weight. Sometimes us others have to shake things up a bit and try different things that work. I have a tendency to not be able to eat processed foods in moderation - its like a smoker who picks up that first cigarette after quitting - they have a hard time not picking up another one and another one. Once I start eating processed foods, I have a hard time stopping at my 1400 to 1500 calorie goal. But once I get through a few weeks of not having those types of foods, my energy level goes up and I naturally stop craving them. But that's just me.0 -

It's not really a diet.. it's just a way to kick the sugar cravings, kick the bad eating habits and train yourself to make healthy choices. the 1st few days suck, if you are addicted to sugar. but after that you feel better.
It kick started my weight loss as I had stalled out.
Oh and it *is* 17 days of quick loss. It's designed to be that way. But as you progress through the cycles it brings it to more sustainable realistic weight loss. As long as you don't go back to unhealthy habits after you go through the cycles you should be fine to maintain the loss or lose more. My friends who have done it have kept off all their weight for years.0 -
No... it is stupid.
Anything that talks about "cleansing", "bad carbs" or "No fruit after 2 p.m. because “it is harder to burn off these calories and they might get stored as fat." is not based in any sort of science. Add in "metabolic confusion" as well!0 -
I am going to try the 17 day diet!
What happens on Day 18??
On Day 18 I ate oats and beans and lost an additional pound. (C2D1 is AWESOME!!! BTW)
haha.. yea stupid.. but it works..
Stupid is as stupid does. lol0 -
I started the 17 day diet 6 days ago and lost 4lbs. Not earth shattering but pretty great since its been forever since I have done anything that has worked. I also havent applied anything with any consistency
That being said, the reviews are great, the program is based on a healthy balanced lifestyle. Back in my 20's I could eat anything, not anymore
So, I'm in if this thing is still going!0
