im upset because im at my heaviest weight and now have a significant amount to lose. i fear even if i eat well and workout ill still end up with loose skin or something and not look good. its hard to be motivated when i feel like that u know? also ive been in the habit of eating junk everyday that it is really hard to get back into eating well and exercising. any tips on how to get back into after being off track awhile? thanks

Just jump straight into it, starting first thing the next day!
Try really hard at each meal to 'eat right', and try to fit in a workout. At the end of the day you will feel motivated by your success, and then you can try to do the same again the next day0 -
thanks i bought some healthy groceries tonight and am planning on going to the gym in the morning . i hope i can do this0

You definitely can
The only person that controls you is you. Don't feel bad if you slip up from time to time - it happens to the best of us. But don't give up - try again the next day to do better.
Good luck0 -
According to your profile you've only got 20lbs to lose so I wouldn't worry too much about loose skin
And by the way you look great for your age ????0 -
Hang in there sweety, just start from scratch. The first 3 days of 'clean' eating are the hardest, I just went through the same thing, so I understand, and literally feel your pain. As for the loose skin, the only thing we can do is strength training to help tighten it up. I'm here for you, girl! You can handle this!0

If you start tomorrow, this is the worst you will ever have to feel. Commit to it, make yourself a calendar or a plan, anything that makes it "official," to stop the cycle. You may look the same and weigh the same for a while, but you'll be proud of yourself Rather than angry.0

Losing 20 lbs won't really give you lose skin. If you lose it fast you may have some for a little, but just put lotion on it and you'll be good to go in no time. Skin is a wonderfully adaptive organ. And as for not looking good.. You look fabulous. If after you lose weight and you feel you look to thin, then it's an easy fix to just eat some more. Then when you reach your desired weight, you'll have more confidence being whatever weight you feel your best at because you know you look great at it.
You can do this. Goto the gym, eat right, be healthy. It sucks to feel huge, but what sucks more is getting even larger. Take charge and be the person you want to be .0 -
You really can do it. Came to MFP a couple of years ago and started to lose. I had a rough time in my personal life and my diet went down hill. I came back heavier than when I started and stuck to it again. If you need to lose 20 you will be really fine. I'm trying to lose perhaps 50. I am out of shape though I'm sure my muscle gain will take up most of the slack :-) My advice would be to stick with it, don't panic and try and overdo it. Nice and steady. I would also try and eat more protein than MFP suggests and do loads of exercise. If you stall for a week or two after losing don't panic and overdo it - just keep going at a good rate. I would also say try and educate yourself. There are some very knowledgeable people on here who love to help. for instance

If you eat right, get proper nutrition, exercise and aim to lose weight consistently instead of fast loose skin will be far less of an issue than if you crash diet. I am a bit concerned about the same thing as I am looking to lose AT LEAST 25kg (55lbs) but I figure loose skin is better for me than tight skin filled with fat. If I end up with too much loose skin at the end, there is always the option for surgery, but honestly I am more in this to get healthy than to look good. I have a loving and supportive family who don't care what I look like, so as long as I am happy...0

Last year I was 99 morning weight. I'm 83.3 this morning. Zero loose skin.

Also get friends on here and open your diary up to your friends. For me immersion (getting really involved in something) works wonders. Post on your friends statuses and post your experiences here. You will help other people but you will be helping yourself as well - become part of it. One last thing - I now look as 'diet' as what I eat not a process of greeting thin. My 'win' isn't getting to what I currently think is my ideal weight, it is living more healthily which involves exercise and eating food that works for me :-)0
