Any diabetics out there trying to lose a few pounds?

Options
 I am a long time dieter and diabetic and at age 74 am making a last ditch effort to get some weight off. I have found that recording my food intake is most helpful. Although I joined MFP a long time ago, I didn't really get serious until a few months ago. I would be happy sharing thoughts with anyone!

I've recently been able to lose weight and I have brought my A1C down to right around 6 by becoming a vegetarian. Of course MFP is the best tool I have used, once I got totally serious about losing this weight. I am almost down to 25% body fat, exercising almost daily and loving it. And like you, I am in my 50's so this was all supposed to be more difficult. My weight loss at present since the first of this year is 70 pounds. You can do it, just keep moving and using MFP.

click the Groups tab just below the My Home, Food, Exercise etc.

in the search terms put in "Type 2 Diabetic Support Group"

It should pop up and then you can click to join the group.

You might have to scroll through a few groups to find it but it's there. It has kind of a medic alert symbol.
