I currently haunt the MFP forums, and enjoyed many of the posts and in turn heres my first lengthy post
long time lurker, first time success story poster
I finally see the goal line after so many years of struggling with my weight.
little background info:
I weighed 200+ lbs for as long as I can remember,
I remember in grade 7 my teacher almost screaming in fright commenting on my weight as an adolescent when I weighed in for a ski trip (I was 200+ lbs)
I always shrugged off the weight comments and become comfortable as the fat kid, hell I just took it as a challenged and bragged about how much I could eat - such as a XL pizza in 1 sitting.
I would indulge in endless amounts of food - consuming McDonald after school for years on end all the way up to my mid 20's.
clearly it was catching up to me, as I weighed myself on the scale and it would not read anything passed 300
I had a minor heart attack around age 23, my toes curled up as I grasped my chest in pain..
again I ignored it as it did not reoccur again.
Its funny how I just kept eating into my probably casket and it never occurred to me I should change/stop my life style.
As I kept eating, I encountered many problems going to social events such as friends parties - don't get me wrong I had fun, but when I saw pictures at myself - I gasped.. I looked disgusting and in shame untagged myself from every face book picture I was in.
I needed to change, I was disgusted with myself...
at 25 I found the site caloriecount.about.com and had great success - went from 300+lb down to around 264 lbs
I was signed up to a gym and went down to 235 lb - I was happy, but was uneducated in regards on how to workout/ manage diet, etc etc.
so then I hate myself back in oblivion once again - spiraling out of control and hitting 288 lbs
and again - it took 1 picture of me at my friends wedding to get motivated to lose weight again (also a couple embarrassing moments at a amusement park where I could barely fit on the rides)
took me approximately 1 year and 2 months to get up to this point - used a wifi scale + trendweight to track my progress in addition to MFP.
and here I am now currently @ 186.1 lbs (pics only up to 199 lb)
enjoy the pictures + progress tracking - edit* not sure what pics arent showing - copy and paste until someone can help
