HI, I have been doing this for a while and have been reasonably successful but always over in my carbs and sugar. Now I am following the sugar detox/low fructose style diet to try to get rid of my sugar cravings and as a result I am way over with my fat and protein! This was inevitable but I was wondering if anybody knows how I can change the percentages of carbs etc I am allowed? BTW very hard to keep sugar under the allowed amount as it creeps into nearly everything!

My Home > Goals > Change Goals > Custom ; Change the %'s to whatever you want them to be.

You can change your goals to whatever you want. A lot of people change to the common 40/30/30 c/f/p ratio for example. Whatever suits your goals and preferences.

define being "over " in protein? Mfp is notoriously low for it's protein suggestions, probably due to some perceived liability but if you're not eating more than 1gram per lb of lean body mass (your weight minues your body fat percentage in lbs) you're not over eating protein. Set protein first then your fat (.4 to .5 per lb of lean body mass) then fill in the rest of your calories/macs with carbs or run protein higher to 1.2.

Please disregard any suggestion to eat based on ratios.

    Next question.

Agreed, don't try to do a set ratio for your macros. But 40/30/30 is usually pretty close to the BASE numbers you'd need. Hit your protein and fat, but don't stress hitting carbs, let them fall where they may.

Protein sitting at 28% when it says it should be 15%. Suppose that isn't too bad. Carbs are 27% rather than 55%. Fat is 44% instead of 30% but that is not going to be the norm as I don't eat roast chicken every night :)

The reason why this doesn't work, in many cases, is because you might not be eating enough.
