Hi all,
I'm a 37 year male, 5'10" and currently 220lbs. I maintained a weight of 175/180 for years until I reached the 30's. I also discovered I really liked beer and ballooned to about 235ish.
So, I cut way back on beer, started going back to the gym and running 3-5 days a week. I love to run! I'm afraid though that my knees will give out at some point at my current weight. That would devastate me if I could no longer run. So,....it's time for me to get into the 100's again and cut back on the calories yet even more.
Today, I added "Insanity" to my workout. All I can say is, "WOW"! I wasn't prepared for that at all and this was just the Fit Test portion. I wasn't able to keep up with the video, pausing here and there to catch my breath. I did however, finish and managed to squeeze in a short 2.5 mile run afterward. I will start the 2nd DVD tomorrow and I'll certainly be wearing a HRM to be safe.
My goal is to lose 10lbs by Jan 1st and shave off another 20+lbs by May 1st of 2014.

You can totally do this! You've set realistic goals and will get there! I am an Insanity grad and LOVED every minute of it. As a matter of fact, I'll be certified to teach it in December! YAY!
Yes the fit test in it of itself is a killer, but guess what? YOU DID IT!! AND did even more by adding in a run!

I am 54 years old currently at 220 lbs from 308lbs and plan to be 200 lbs by Xmas, it only takes commitment, honesty and effort.
So I am sure a young fella like you will have no problem!0 -
Had a free moment to check this site out a little more. I think I found a good place to keep me going.0
