From Couch to Half-Marathon ... and 41 kgs shed!

I have thought about sharing my journey in the forum for a while and thought I finally should. I started using My Fitness Pal properly in February - I was 262 lbs (18 st 10 or 119 kg). Tonight, I am 171 lbs (12 st 3 or 78 kg).

I am still eating well, but healthily. And yesterday, I ran my 3rd Half-Marathon in the last 5 weeks, raising money for Charity. In February, I could not run a bath.

It has been hard work, but MFP has allowed me to always know what I could and could not do. I still have a life ... I know that I can stuff myself at Nando's in less than 500 calories!

If I could do it, we all can. I wish you every success on your journey.

    awesome! thank you for sharing.

I am thinking very seriously of running in a 4 k in march - i've alwasy thought about it in a "someday i'd like to but i'm too fat" kind of way. now it's becoming an actual, tangible goal.

Amazing, well done! I started my weight loss journey 3 weeks ago and I have cut down to 1200 calories a day, and go to the gym 3/4 times a week, time permitting. I'd really like to start jogging (or running) in the mornings before work but I'm worried I'll go about it the wrong way and give up. Has anyone got any tips? Thanks in advance! Kirsty.
