Are you asking if you have to eat the max that it estimates for you? Or are you talking about exercise calories? use the SEARCH tool to look for a similar post - I'm sure there are a ton already. Lots of knowledgeable folks here!
  • You do not HAVE to consume the total amount of calories (you can consume less if you like) but if you go over your calorie goal everyday it will take longer to reach your goal weight.

The calories should also come from healthy food, not 1200 calories of bread (carbs) - you will not lose weight consuming empty and high carb calorific foods.

    Hope this helps :)

Set your calorie goals for a sustainable calorie deficit, figure out your ideal macro targets so that you have enough protein and fats, make sure you're getting enough fiber and weigh everything on a digital scale. And you certainly CAN incorporate all the foods you love, in moderation. This is an excellent post to get you started. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/819925-the-basics-don-t-complicate-it

    False.

You can eat 1200 calories of bread and lose weight if you want. It won't be healthy because it isn't hitting all your nutrition needs, but weight loss and nutrition are completely separate things.
