I'm unable to do any high intensity exercise due to a heart condition that I have.
Does anyone else have a similar issue and/or anyone have any ideas about what sort of exercise is good for low intensity that I could do without having to visit the gym? Or any advise about successfully increasing fitness level without my heart rate going up too much.

I really enjoy DDP Yoga, It is a type of yoga that with the aid of isometric/isokenetic movements builds your core strength, increases flexability, and really improves your life!
What I really like about it, is the fact that during the exercices they remind you over and over, "if you need a break, take one!" "It's not about falling down seven times, it's about getting up eight!"
Check it out on Youtube, there is also a group here on MFP for us DDP'ers.
Good luck!0 -
I would suggest getting a heart rate monitor, that way you can tell when your exerting yourself too much.0

I LOVE Leslie Sansone...she has Walking DVDs. I think you can find her on cable exercise channels as well. All her workouts are able to be changed to fit the participants level. Low/High it's up to you. :drinker:0

Yeah as others have said I would focus on walking, yoga, pilates and swimming.
If your heart is a problem get a heart rate monitor to make sure you're keeping your heart in check!0 -
