Daily Fat Intake to low.

So normally my fat intake is super low, even when i eat over my calorie limit (which happens more then id like it too). Without exercise i eat about 1200 a day and when i do exercise my goal jumps to about 1500.
Im supposed to be getting 40g of fat according to MFP however i usually only make it to about 20g at the most, sometimes 15g or less.
Pretty much i just want to have an idea as to how this might be unhealthy, or if it is, because i'm really not sure.

Fat is a great nutrient. It's what helps your body dissolve vitamins like D & E. It helps keep your skin supple and your hair shiny. Certain fats help keep your body healthy and your heart flexible. It helps to manufacture hormones especially male and female hormones like testosterone and estrogen. It may even play a role in helping your immune system.
I'm sure you've heard over and over all the great sources, but you might want to see how adding an 1oz of nuts (walnuts have some great heart healthy fats), a 1/4-1/2 of avocado, a splash of oil (olive, canola, sesame, peanut, soy, safflower, walnut, macadamian) to your cooking or your salads, fatty fish like salmon, mackrel, sardines, and some dairy, saturated fat like butter or coconut, or a nice piece of marbled meat helps.
Play with fat, experiment with fat. It's beautiful it's what makes good food taste delicious.0 -
Wow, i didn't know a lot of that. You are full of helpful information. I haven't been eating enough fats for years now i know, and so i guess i don't really miss them or know how to add them into my diet without going way over on the calories.
Thank you for the ideas though. I shall definitely keep them i mind. I will try some of this experimentation as you call it, should like a challenge, but i suppose a challenge can be fun.0
