Are they the only 12 we can choose from?0

Right now, running. a year ago, I never thought I would say that but after completing some 5k's this year. I'm enjoying it and looking forward to next year and maybe get a 10k under my belt along the line0

There are countless activities actually, if you see. But those 12 are most common which are done by almost every other person. This figure is not just to be very exact with the activities but it was just to remind and motivate that how the tiny things work in our daily life, we don't have to put extra effort. Things are working around for us and we never noticed.0

I prefer 13. Field hockey0

I'd say that all of those things are deliberate exercise that people make time to do and know are exercise? They are hardly tiny things that people wouldn't realise burn calories...0

I think that's a strange list.
A very popular sport in UK is football (soccer to our friends across the pond) but you haven't mentioned that. Or rugby, or American football or a very large list of other activities.
No mention of sailing either. My DD can burn 6000 calories per day competing on the water.
My personal preference is watching TV - you burn calories doing that too! Oh, and sleeping, and breathing, and lifting the wine glass.
I assume this thread should actually be called "A SELECTION OF 12 sports and recreational activities that CAN burn A HIGH NUMBER OF calories".0 -

Erm.... I normally "notice" things like playing tennis... :huh:0 -

I'd love to see some documentation supporting that claim.0 -
Beach volleyball or hard-court indoor volleyball.0

This thread is nuts: even by the standards of this site!0

I do Ice Hockey. Unfortunately it doesn't burn any calories according to this list.
But it is the best sport in the world. So there.0 -
hmm. I knew it all along. Weight lifting doesn't do anything
If Leg day is easy then you're doing it wrong.0 -

You do? Coz I was in my office the other day and all of a sudden I looked around and realised I'd climbed a fricken MOUNTAIN! Now I know it even burned calories!0 -
What about unicycle hockey?
That burns way more cals than rock climbing.0 -

So, I've been doing this all wrong. Hockey is usually my toughest workout.0 -

I would say a nice hard long walk and a wourkout on the Elliptical burns quite a few calories.0
