Total body workout

Sorry if this has been asked before. My search-fu is weak.

I want to start incorporating strength training into my workouts, but I want to make sure I hit all the muscle groups. I don't really want to train a single muscle in isolation...movements that work multiple muscles at once are ideal for my goals. I go to a gym so I have access to free weights and I'm not afraid to use them!

Currently I am doing these bodyweight exercises:

Pushups
Leg-raises
Squats
Pull-ups (assisted pullups right now, but I will be gradually working my way up to real, non-assisted pullups)

Am I missing any major muscle groups? Should I be hitting another area in addition to the above?

Thanks!

Burpees and mountain climbers work ya pretty good! And planks are great for the core.
  • I'm familiar with burpees and planks but I'd never heard of mountain climbers before. Just looked those up...looks like a definite workout!!

Turkish get-ups with a kettle bell work every muscle in your body. Try them without weight first so you can get the form correct. Then start adding weight. bodybuilding.com is is a great website for ideas
