Getting enough protein

Hi folks! I find that I am struggling to get enough protein (30% of my calories) and I wind up going over 40% carbs. I know hard numbers aren't important, but they protein is really important (especially to help recover from working out). I eat egg whites, lots of beans, hummus, brown carbs when I eat them, and some meat. Any suggestions (outside of protein powders) for getting this up and the carbs down a bit?

Meat tends to be my go-to snack.
Turkey pepperoni slices are great, grabbing a handful on your way out the door, or chopped up and browned in egg whites/on toast/as bacon bits in salads.
Quinoa is a complete protein (I still have no idea what that means, but it's good) so using instead of rice or couscous can be great. You can also mix up cooked quinoa, egg, and some veggies (I use spinach and roasted red peppers) for a nice on-the-go snack that's easy to eat on the run.
Also, greek yogurt!!!0 -
Almond butter! I love it with apples and celery.0
