This thread was inspired by the Worst Thing You've Ever Been Called thread. I thought a positive one would be nice, and I'd like to hear all the nice things people say. :smile:

I think some of the best compliments come from strangers. One time I was at the gym on the treadmill, looking (what I thought was) horrid, and an older gentleman walked by and said "I love your tattoos, and that smile! What a gorgeous smile you have!" I thought that was absolutely sweet of him.

The other day I was at a busy bus stop, and a lady stopped her conversation to tell me "You are beautiful! I don't know what it is but wow, maybe it's your eyes.. no, it's the whole package. Just beautiful." And told me she wasn't hitting on me, just flirting, haha. But I was smiling for the rest of the day!

    I had a younger guy playing basket ball yell nice a-- as I was running one night ( im officially offended LOL ) but it felt good to know a stranger thought I has a nice booty!!!!

    Nurses are so underrated here, and some of them are so grumpy. You must be fantastic, and congrats for being a favorite!

    Not one specifically, but I personally love when any stranger compliments me. They certainly don't have to, and as I like to say, if they really didn't like whatever it was they complimented, they just wouldn't say anything.

    I'm on mat leave and the other day I visited my workplace with my 8 month old baby.. Everyone was like wow you've lost the weight already, good job, etc. it felt good to hear that because I actually felt like I haven't lost enough yet.

    I was at a formal function with my husband when he introduced me to the wife of one of his coworkers. After learning my name she began to praise my appearance, telling me that I was beautiful, a show stopper, and that I truly stood out in the crowd. It was so nice to hear when I was already standing in a room full of people dressed to the nines.

    ^This^ I just went to school conferences and kept hearing from the teachers what a joy my kids are (they're 13, so that's not something you get every day any more!), and how grateful they are to have them in their classes. They kept complimenting me on what a great job I've done with them. That was the best compliment I could've gotten all year!!!

    Mine is nothing too exciting but I quite liked it! "Most smart people are really ugly... But you're not." By some random person at a college open day from another table. It's a double compliment: smart AND not really ugly!

    I had both a grandmother and uncle not recognize me earlier this year. I had an aunt to pass on and, at the funeral, I had people come up and ask me who I was. Kinda weird, but that is how much change occurred.

    I think the best was since I still remember it. I was in a grocery store & there were 2 women in the milk section across from the bread as I went pass them to get some bread as I turned I saw them checking me out. As I passed them I said have a good day and they said they were now

    Where do you live? Where I come from, nursing is considered a very NOBLE career, and I proudly wear MY badge of honor. NURSE HERE for 20 years and proud of it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    A compliment that I have seemed to have gotten over and over again in my life and one I always appreciate is that I have good posture!! I'm a nurse and lots of patients will tell me they see me walking up and down the hall and that I have beautiful posture. I take it as a great compliment!! :)
