:drinker: Hello,
Well we are heading into fall and I would love to grab a hot drink on my way to work, but I don't want to waste 300-400 cal on a starbucks drink. Can anyone suggest a good hot low cal drink from starbucks? I prefer my drink to be a bit more sweeter and no too much on the strong side. I tried the pumpkin spice drink and didnt like it. I was a huge fan caramel macchiato during fall and I would ask for 1/2 shot and with extra caramel.... can't do that anymore. I am looking for a drink I would like that would be upto 200 cal if possible....Thank you! :-)

Starbucks publishes their nutrition info on their website:
http://www.starbucks.com/menu/nutrition
There's even a section for "Delicious Drinks Under 200 Calories"0 -
You can ask for a skinny caramel macchiato.
I usually get a skinny vanilla latte.
Ask for almost any drink "skinny", it's just sugar free syrup, nonfat milk, and no whip.0 -
A small skinny vanilla latte is under 200 calories.0

i always order a misto -- its coffee with steamed milk so it kind of feels like a latte but its not! and i add a little cinnamon or nutmeg on top. today i tried it with a pump of pumpkin syrup and still very low cal, you can check my diary its open0

This or a short skinny hazelnut latte.0 -

Change vanilla to caramel and you just named my 2 favorite drinks from there! :drinker:
Their website is one of the best as far as nutritional information - and ordering "Skinny" is always your best bet.0 -
I always get a nonfat latte, but I'm sure that wouldn't be sweet enough for you. Maybe a skinny vanilla latte? I love the peppermint mochas, but I don't remember how many calories it has when made with nonfat milk. Probably a lot... The other seasonal one is the eggnog one - latte, I think? I remember having those last year. Yum! Again, I have no idea how many calories are in it, but it's good.0

Black coffee would probably be only a few calories... maybe add a dash of creamer and sugar to stay under your limit but be sweet enough for you?0
-
a grande nonfat caramel macchiato is 190 cals. that is my go-to for lower calorie drinks.0
-
Also a great way to save on calories is to ask for less pumps of the syrup. I love the pumpkin spice latte, but i started getting it with 2 pumps of the pumpkin sauce instead of the 4. that is 200 calories if you get it nonfat and no whip.0
-
I've been getting a venti skinny mocha latte. 180 calories for 19g of protein and chocolate deliciousness0
-
I go the tea route....usually green tea.0
-
Not sure how you feel about tea, but a grande Earl Grey Tea Latte is only 150 calories.0

At that point I'd just walk up and say I'd like a tall "what's the point"0 -
wow thanks all! I really haven't tried any "skinny" drinks before! So does it matter what size of Skinny I order or does it have to be a tall? There is about 3-4 drinks on here I will try this fall! Thanks again!0

I love the cappuccino with skim milk. I add a Splenda and extra cinnamon and it is truly yummy.
My husband loves the skinny vanilla latte.0 -
They don't have skinny syrup for all of the drinks though. For example, a Peppermint Mocha...they have skinny dark chocolate mocha but do not have skinny peppermint syrup.
Starbucks website is great for nutrition calculations though. Most of the time I just end up getting a Tall Nonfat Vanilla Latte, which is 150 calories. If I made that a skinny vanilla (sugar free syrup) it would only be 100 calories. I just dont like the flavor of many of the skinny syrups (probably the aftertaste from the artificial sweetener).0 -
All the heavy calorie coffees you can get as skinny. The Tall Skinny Mocha's are only 150 calories.0

When I go for coffee, I'm going for maximum caffeine intake. So it's a coffee with a little soy/almond milk for me then add some cinnamon to it. Less than 10 calories. I don't like to drink my calories.0
-
Or, instead of ordering coffee in Big Gulp sizes, you can get it with whole milk, the traditional way, in a small size.0
-
This may be a silly question...
...But why don't you just make your own coffee at home, where you can control how much of everything goes into it, thus controlling the Calories yourself?0 -
whip is the best part though...0

@why not make your own:
I don't have a coffee machine and even if I did I'd break it somehow. Plus I only drink coffee once a month, or once every three months, whenever I feel like it. Not worth buying the equipment.0 -

Starbucks have Pumpkin Spice Vias that you can mix with your own warm milk which are super tasty. Also a hot tea latte with fat free milk and just small amount of preferred sweetner or any of the skinny's in Tall size0
-
love starbucks, taso zen tea (lemongrass and spearmint- green tea)0

A single-serve coffee maker is less than $20, provided you don't get the Keurig or equivalent.
Don't get me wrong - I occasionally get a coffee from Dunkin Donuts, but my typical morning coffee that I drink on the way to work is made at home.0 -
any skinny drink!
my fav are the hazelnut & caramel macchiato! Well under 200 cals for a grande.0 -
