Hello! Starting intermittent fasting today

Hey guys.
Thought i might as well make a topic to give myself some motivation and to meet the community.
Im a 22 yo male from New Zealand. Currently 18% bf, 189 pounds and 6 foot.
Been going to the gym on and off but consistently the last few weeks. Muscle wise im not huge but id say above average.
My bench 1 rep max is 180 lbs.
I recently got a new desk job and started to put on some fat around the gut so thought i might as well try and take control before it gets out of hand. Its just coming into summer over here so time to get ripped up.
Im going to be giving intermittent fasting a try as ive heard many success stories and my main goal is to shred fat and reach 8-10% body fat, while keeping as much of my muscle gains and getting defined.
Fasting Day 1:
So i haven't eaten for 14.5 hours now and its hard. super hard. Sitting at my desk not even thinking about work. not concentrated at all. but only 2 hours to go so its not un doable. Pretty good for day one i think.
I've planned my first meal. foot long sub with a fruit smoothie.
I'm going to aim for about 2100-2200 calories per day to start with and reduce if i think i have to next week.
My plan is 8 hours feeding, 16 hours fasting.
I'm going to hit the gym after my first of 2 meals roughly around 8pm.

hey good luck mate, i'm in auckland. Haven't read much up on the fasting approach, trying paleo myself and have got down to a good weight so just trying to maintain now.0
