How much should I be eating?

I think I'm over thinking it and making it more confusing than it should be lol, but I'm trying to figure out how many calories I should be eating per day to lose 2lbs per week.

To lose 2lbs per week I need to take away 7,000 from the equation. According to www.webmd.com/diet/calc-bmi-plus when I'm lightly active I burn 2,200 calories a day. So is a week that's 15,400. Minus 7,000 (2lbs) =8400. So 1,200 per day.

Now if I exercise I'll (on average) burn 600 calories per workout. So 2,800 burned per day. So when I'm exercising should I eat 1,800 per day? Is this enough if I'm doing Insanity?

I'm so sorry if I'm being jumbled. I just want to make sure I'm on the right track. Thanks for the replies!

If you use Scooby's Workshop Calorie Calculator, you can figure out the amount to eat with added exercise (TDEE) -5, 10, 15, 20, and 25%. That may be able to figure out for you with exercise included. Good luck!
  • 1, the daily energy intake should be less than the energy consumption caused by the negative balance. Dietary protein, fat and carbohydrate ratio close to normal diet, but the number is slightly reduced. Do not pay attention to diet excessively, to prevent inadequate intake of nutrients.
2, Do not lose weight too fast, not exceeding 2 kg per month.
3, diet food they must be able to accept, it would be difficult long-term adherence.
4, cooking methods must be reasonable. More choice of salad, avoid fried.
5, on the basis of the diet, supplemented by regular exercise.

If you are going to exercise then eating back the calories is suggested so that you can fuel yourself properly.

1,800 sounds ok if your target is 2lbs per week, assuming you entered your personal info correctly.

As you get nearer your goal it is suggested to lower the amount you aim to lose each week, many reasons, one is to make maintenance easier.

If you don't have much to lose then 2lb per week maybe too drastic, they are plenty of topics on MFP on this sort of thing, you will find loads under the Search function (I don't have the links to hand, although someone may have).

    With 60 lbs to lose, I wouldn't lose 2lb a week personally.

Keep in mind that insanity has rest days too, doesn't it? Then I wouldn't eat as much to account for them. Or I'd just use TDEE-20%. I'd use http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/ with 20% deficit and the moderately active setting.
