I am doing a Daniel fast type diet. I am a sort of plain eater and am having a really hard time coming up with quick breakfast ideas. I am basing this on the Daniel Fast. I am trying to detox my body from all the sugar and processed foods. Does anyone have any good ideas for breakfast and lunch that I can make during a time strained morning?
Any ideas would be great! Thanks!!

What's the Daniel diet?
is it eating locusts and figs? or is it being tasty enough to be eaten by lions? im confused0 -
I've done the Daniel Fast before and ate:
smoothies for breakfast (spinach, frozen bananas, frozen strawberries, almond milk)
oatmeal with fruit
a lot of hummus with fresh veggies
brown rice and beans
brown rice stir fry
Are you on Pinterest at all? There are tons of recipes.0 -
When I did this, I used to have grits. or plain oatbran with soy milk. I also would make a smoothie (which according to the site and books you could do as long as everything was on the lists AND if it was being used as a meal).
I will have to go back and look at some of my other ideas.....0 -
I looked on Pinterest and didn't find too many breakfast ideas. I have been trying different things like that for dinner when I have alittle more time to cook it. I was thinking of a smoothie but I can do that everyday. Just looking for different ideas.0

Found this online but dont know how "quick" the recipes are. My church did the Daniels Fast during the Lent season and I found that much of the recipes (for me) required time and preparation - was definitely a challenge for me.0 -
Fruits, veggie, nuts, and grains. I guess its pretty much like a vegan diet.0

When I did that a few years ago-- I had a plain omlette with 2-3 cups steamed broccoli and cauliflower on the side. But then I don't have a problem with eating veggies for breakfast. Sometimes I added spinach to my omlette but I wasn't doing dairy, grains or meat- so no cheese.
If you are time crunched then I would make as much ahead and do a reheat rather than a cook. And I wouldnt worry too much about whether a food is a "breakfast" food or not.0 -
I relied on manna from heaven for my sweet fix!0

It definitely takes planning. Stock up on fresh fruits and veggies. You could make make refrigerator oatmeal the night before and have it ready for when you wake up. If you go to a heath food store, there are breads out there that are Daniel Fast friendly, and you can have toast with raw peanut or almond butter.
I found this list on a blog:
Muesli with unsweetened soy milk
Rice cakes (made with brown rice) with peanut butter and raisins
Fruit smoothies with unsweetened soy milk
Sautéed apples in coconut oil with brown rice
Oatmeal with dried fruit and unsweetened soy milk
Homemade tortillas with stir-fried veggies0
