WW, binge eating, yo-yo, never giving up

I spent the last year on WeightWatchers and was super happy with the program and especially the support of the meetings. I lost 45 pounds in 10 months, which was extremely hard, because of my Binge Eating Disorder. I screwed up all of the time and my weight went up and down in that time. When I found out I couldn't afford WW anymore, I gained 25 pounds back in a month. I have a lot of emotional issues and I am definitely a food addict. I have battled with my weight all of my life, and for the past 12 years especially. I would lose 30 pounds in a few months and gain back 40. I am never giving up, and since MFP is free (and I had a bit of success with it a few years ago) I am giving it another try. Basically I'll never get where I want to be, no matter what program I use, until I sort out my issues, but I have to keep trying. I am miserable being so overweight, and I want to feel normal and happy. I would love to have the same kind of support I got from WW.

I also deal with binge eating. I have recently begun working on it in therapy and if that is an option for you you might find it helpful. Sending you a friend request as we can never have too many supporters in our journies. You are strong for trying again and not giving up.

If you aren't seeking help from a counselor or support group (or maybe even if you are), I highly recommend the Beck Diet Solution book. Despite the name, it isn't a diet, it is cognitive behavioral therapy (changing the way you think) geared toward food. I am an emotional eater, and it has helped me immensely. You can friend me if you like--I have done WW, yo-yo, etc. I currently am down 32 lbs from my high (in January 2007), shooting for maybe 30 more.
