Getting enough food when I work?

I just started a new seasonal job, and they've got me working 3 - 9pm. Typically, I eat very little in the first part of the day and then eat a big meal in the evening when I have more foods to choose from. Last time I worked, I ended up barely eating 1000 calories. I'm worried I'll keep this up and end up with big deficits. I don't like cooking full meals at 9:30 at night, either.
So does anyone have tips on getting enough food when I'm working smack dab in the middle of my favorite time to eat? Some other employees eat bags of chips from the vending machine while they work, but I'd rather not just eat anything available to meet my goals.
Also I don't know when I'll get paid, so I'm very very low on money right now, so cheap options would be great. Thanks
Edit: I forgot to mention I get a 15 minute break

I used to work shifts of 12:00 - 9:00pm. If I were starting at 3:00 like yourself I would have breakfast and lunch at home then take a snack and evening meal to work and eat it there (just like you would on a normal shift) then maybe have a snack when you get home if you're hungry.0

pack some easily portable snacks like apples and peanut butter or pretzels or pears. Granola bars or protein bars work well too. Easy things that don't take up a lot of room and don't need a fridge. If you have a fridge handy, then maybe greek yogurt with fruit or cottage cheese.0

cheese, nuts, rice cake with peanut butter, protein bars, ham sandwich on wheat bread, hard boiled eggs. I never have trouble getting enough food, I only have trouble eating too much!0

Not really seeing the issue here. This is only a 6-hour timeframe. It's not early, it's not late. Eat before you go. Eat when you come back.0

I keep almonds around- perfect snack to get calories up healthily too. Apples, bananas are good or some air popped popcorn with seasoning and olive oil. Make dinner before leaving for work so you can eat it on break or make a big batch of something to eat throughout the week. Chips and vending machine food tastes good but it will leave you yearning for more substantial food real fast. I bring really big lunches to work everyday since lunch is my time to eat big You can pack anything you set your mind to :laugh:0

If you eat a larger late lunch around 2, that should get you through the first half of your shift. Bring an apple or nuts or something like that, and you should be able to make it until you get home.0

You typically may need to change your eating habits for the duration of your job. Make a larger meal to eat before you go to work, take a snack for your break that has some calories and nutrition (cheese, fruit, cut up veggies with dip, a sandwich) and then have a light meal when you get home. Not rocket science.0
