I am on the 5:2 diet and I am making some roast carrots in the crockpot. I added some onion soup mix but I don't intend to "eat" the juice just the carrots. Do I count the calories in the onion soup mix?

The carrots are going to soak up the juice.
So yes, you count it.
If you fry something in oil, you count the oil. Same concept.0 -
I probably would, because a lot of that flavor from the soup mix is what has the calories, and that's what you want to stick to your carrots. Or if I was feeling indulgent I would count half the calories from the soup.0

The calories will probably be negligible but be aware that soup mixes tend to be high salt so the carrots may absorb some of that. Just something to be aware of if you track sodium.0

Thanks y'all I just needed to hear from some others. I was not sure what to do. Majority rules, I'll count it.0
