I logged in food that I consumed when blood sugar suddenly goes low. Should I always do that or do those foods not count?

Just my $.02, but I think you should log them if for no other reason than to keep an accurate record of what you consume.0

Do they have calories?0

I'm not sure I understand why you wouldn't log it....0

Of course you should log them! You're eating them aren't you? :P
I suffer from low blood sugar too, and I find that eating more protein, more often, helps keep me going during the day.0 -
They definitely do count. I have the same issue and food is food. It all contributes to your calorie goal for the day. Just try to make sure you are making as healthy a choice as possible. (ie- fruit and light cheese, a few crackers and a bit of peanut butter, etc)0

Log all food. Reason doesn't matter. If you eat it, it affects your calorie count and weight loss goals.0

The calories in foods that you eat have nothing to do with low blood sugar as far as units of energy are concerned. However if you eat certain food that give you low blood sugar ( unusual, but possible ) I would avoid those foods and eat something different.
I avoid white bread, white rice and normal pasta because of a possible connection ( among other things ) with hypoglycemia and eat corn tortillas instead of bread, brown rice and pulses/legumes instead of white rice and at the moment no pasta, plus I eat more protein. I have since April only had one hypoglycemic episode. And yes, I logged all calories......and still always do.0 -
Log it. But if you get acute low blood sugar, like me, make sure you save room in your calories for those emergency snacks. Then if you have a good day, you can give yourself a treat at the end.
As a tip so you don't hit the vending machine, always make sure that you carry a healthy snack with protein and sugar. I usually stick a Special K protein snack bar in my purse or car when I'll be out in the afternoon.0 -
Thanks for your advice. I really appreciate it. It is embarrassing because today I ate over the calorie limit. I needed to know what I should consume whenever my blood sugar level falls the way mine did today.0

My go to snacks for BS drops are
Greek yogurt w fruit
Apple and cheese
Peanut butter crackers (I keep a pack in my purse for emergencies)
The key is a combination of carbs to get the blood sugar back up, and a bit of protein to stabilize it. However, the real key is learning how to avoid episodes. For me, eating a diet with a good amount of fat and protein, and eating 5-6 times a day keeps my blood sugar level. And yes, you should still log it. If you end up over, then you end up over. Not logging it doesn't change that.0
