Been on this journey for about 6 or 7 weeks. And it's paying off! My size 13's are falling off of me, but we can't afford anything right now.

It's crazy! I look ridiculous in them now! But my tummy and legs look fantastic, besides the stretch marks. lol The only 11's I have are falling apart from wearing them when they were too small. haha

I have dropped over 2 pant sizes since I started. And still dropping. I don't have the money issue, but I HATE buying new clothes. So I just have lots of belts.

    Oh, and grats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also, you can easily get clothes for cheap by looking for sales and clearance. I know there are bargain stores that you can sell your clothes and get name brand and designer for dirt cheap...Platos Closet I think is one, but I am not too sure.

goodwill or salvation army. if you are willing to spend the time looking you can find great "in between" stuff.
  • I'm VERY glad to be finding myself in the same predicament. Fall (and rainy weather) came quickly to Southern California this week. Found myself with NO jeans!! Raced out to Target and bought one cute pair, that I can't afford another. Might check out a thrift shop too. Great idea...

    Congrats!

I know that I can go to a thrift store, but it's far enough away that I can get pulled over(learning to drive a stick and I kill it ALL the time) and my license is suspended til I get a ticket paid, so I'll get arrested. DH is too lazy to get up earlier and take me there, so I wear ridiculous pants. At least I wear pants to large instead of too small.
  • They have these buttons that you can buy from stored like Wal-Mart that you can connect to your pants to make them smaller. . . I think their called smart buttons? But you can adjust them to tighten up your pants that are too lose or can't bare to part with! Maybe even get them from CVS or Wal-Greens! My g/f has some, there neat!

The bad part about smart buttons is they don't tighten up the legs on pants. If I wait much longer, I might look like I'm wearing clown pants.

LOL! Talk about a great problem to have! This morning while I was doing my cardio workout, my pants literally fell down to my ankles. It was hilarious!!! Thank goodness I was at home and not at the gym or something.

I agree with the others... consignment shops are the way to go!! Some places have better choices then others. I love Plato's Closet!

I bought myself a new pair of jeans for the same reason, but haven't been able to get myself to take the tags off. I really didn't want to spend money on something that may be short lived. On the other hand, can't stand the saggy *kitten*. But definitely a problem I like having :).

OMG. We are stretch mark twins.

Great job. I've lost enough that all my skinny cloths fit loosely. But I have so far to the end of the trip that I don't want to buy anything yet that I can keep just for a couple of months.

Nope. I got the kids 24/7 too, so that also makes it more difficult. My life right now is the kids and fitness. It sounds sad, but I'm pretty happy with it for now.

I agree with this!!! I love my local Goodwill. They have some great clothes, at great prices, and I especially love the special 50% colors :)

Yeah. I bought these pants in August! I HATE my stretch marks, by the way. I SOO wanted to photoshop them. haha

I have a friend that has her kiddo most of the time... I offer to go shopping with her and watch the little one while she does her thing. We haven't yet.. but if you lived closer I'd do it for you too! :)

At least you have a good reason for them! I'm full of stretch marks and no babies! Blah!

Aaaww! That's sweet! :flowerforyou: There are a few people that have offered to babysit, but they are the ones that are always broke, and I feel bad not paying them, so I don't bother. These all sound like excuses, but they are what keep me couped up and it sucks at times. Blah! I'll just bask in the glory of my loose pants for now. lol

I'm having the same problem!! I'm currently wearing work pants (dress pants) and I have to hold them up when i walk. They are SO insanely big that they fall off my body and hang on the floor to where I'm tripping over them :(
Now when I walk, I have to hold my pants up. People look at me strange but heck, I DON'T CARE lmfao

Ah, shoot! lol Dress pants are the worst for not fitting! They are like trying to cover up with satin blanket. They slip right down. Denim has something about it that it clings to you. lol I must say that my pants being to big is a great problem to have.
  • Call around to your local tailors and see what they charge to have your pants taken in. You can have them taken in about 1-2 sizes - if they become too big after being taken in, you just might have to break down and buy new pants!

This is what I did. I had my sz 10-12's taken in to a sz 8, now I treat myself to a sz 6 each pay day! It's very rewarding and cost efficient!

    Keep up the good work!

That is a great idea! Thank you! I'll see if that is cheaper than going to the thrift store.
