Kind of New-ish

I've been tracking for a little while here, but I haven't joined in the forums yet.
I'm Tracie. I'm a 34 y/o SAHM of 2. I started losing weight in Feb. 2009. I've lost nearly 40lbs so far. Last year I reached my lowest weight of 170.8 in December. I put back on 13 lbs over the holidays and have spent the past year relosing it. I'm finally getting back into my groove and am less than 4lbs from my lowest weight.
As of today I'm 174.8. I'm also 5'3" so I still have a little ways to go to get to my goal of around 130. The holidays are approaching again so I'm starting to get nervous. I don't want the same thing to happen this year that happened last. So I'm prepared to be more diligent with my eating and exercise all through the months of November and December. I'm finding that having a support system works wonders.

Welcome to the forums! I have some advice for getting through the holidays. My plan is to attend the festivities at OTHER people's houses as much as possible. I am not going to bake Christmas cookies or make any pies, or any of those things that kick my butt, because I don't want them in my house. Anything that I have the opportunity to cook over the holidays (I'm helping out with side dishes), I will cook in the healthiest way possible. I will attend the dinners, and have a LITTLE BIT of everything, and I will eat slowly and listen to my body when it tells me it's satisfied. When it's time to go home, and I am offered leftovers to take home, I will REFUSE them. I don't need that stuff in my house. I will do my best to stay within my calories when I am at those dinners, but if I go over a little it's okay. On the days we do not have family gatherings, I WILL stay within my calorie allowance. And last, but not least, I will EXERCISE so that any extra calories don't pile on the pounds. Good luck to you!0

Well hello  Congrats on the pnds lost. Yes..the holidays can be a health buster. That was my down fall last year. I had been doing really well and then everyone decided I should have Thanksgiving. So I was the one cooking all the food. They even busted my work out time in the morning. I have yet to get up at 5 like I did before that Thanksgiving. I am working to get back to my routine of waking up early. I am also throwing a new work out dvd in to keep things fresh...lol. Feel free to add me for some support. We can all help each other0

Thanks
Kami: I'm already hoping that most of the holiday stuff is going to be held at someone else's house. And if I do any baking it will be the healthiest I can do it.0
