Check the insulin index on the Wiki
Whey protein and milk spike up your insulin levels, they spike higher than carbs like whole wheat bread this of coarse eventually leads to insulin resistance and that is diabetes

starts at 37:00 to 50:00 on the tape
It is not the glucose glycemic index it is the insulin index check it out

This is awesome news!
I was concerned that I wasn't getting maximum creatine uptake when taking it with my whey protein in the morning instead of a dextrose based drink. Thanks Lichent, you're the best!0 -

Of course it does which is why I only eat mars bars. I would not want to get diebeetus.0 -
Are you suggesting to eat a mars bar before a whey shake? so my index doesn't spike, put jump up more gradually?0

Is it just me, or does anyone else see a man's face, sporting a white mustache, in this picture? Or did I miss the point entirely of the picture. I missed it with the OP. Sorry OP.0 -

That's exactly what you're supposed to see. A subliminal Wilford Brimley telling you all about "Diabeetus."0 -

I seem to remember the blood glucose stays the same though, the the insulin effect is cancelled out by glucagon ?
Whereas carbs elevate the blood sugar as well and are then shuttled off to be used or stored by the insulin response.

I had to search for 'Lichent' to find this latest thread. I'm afraid I might be missing others. Could I make a special request that when you come across a 'Lichent' thread, you reply with his name in the thread? Maybe I'd have better luck by searching for 'buddy.'
Nope.... too many 'buddies' here.0
