    Plain Greek yogurt.

I thought about that, but I wasn't sure if the tastes would compliment each other. Greek Yogurt seems to be a substitute for a lot of things. I'll have to give it a try.

Whizzed up soft/silken tofu with lemon juice and mustard mixed in makes a very good mayo substitute - might work with eggs!

I have heard plain greek yogurt can be used, but I haven't tried it yet since the light mayo I use only has 35 calories in a Tablespoon.

Not a fan of tofu, unfortunately.

That reminds me, I'm almost out of paprika!

Light mayo works. I like adding Dijon mustard to the Greek yogurt though.
  • cottage cheese and greek yogurt, (blend the cottage cheese to smooth it out)

Gonna sound odd but I use Tzatziki. Just add enough to get the texture and flavor you want. It's amazing and low calorie. DELICIOUS.

I also do that with Tuna.

    I'm a bit obsessed.

I would just use light mayo (Light Hellmann's mayo is only 35 cal per tbsp).

What are you going to do with it?

I make a sandwich filling by chopping up one hard boiled egg with one similar sized toato - as you chop them together the juice in the tomato will bind everything together.

Also excellent. (I assume you meant tomato?)

I just plan on using it as a high protein, relatively low calorie snack if I get hungry or for a light lunch.

Veganaise is a good substitute. Tastes pretty good too in my opinion.

    Veganaise? What sorcery is this?

I use a cilantro yogurt dip from Trader Joe. It is way better than mayonnaise.

Vegan mayo tastes like *kitten*! I just use regular mayo, I don't have it often enough to be an issue and you can always make room for it.

Yeah, I know, but once in a while.. *shrug*. I bought my jar months ago, it's still 75% full.

Lol. That's what I use and not because I'm vegan. I simply prefer the taste. Still get mayo when there's no option, but when I have the choice, it's veganaise.

Eta: and when I'm out of veganaise, I use yogurt. Usually Bulgarian white mountain for egg salad. I don't like the thickness for this type of dish of greek yogurt.

if you can get it, Heinz 50% less fat salad cream makes a fantastic egg salad. it's a British product. It doesn't taste like mayonnaise although the texture is similar. It's more like if you mixed mayonnaise with vinaigrette, but it's really nice and i like it better than mayonnaise. Unfortunately the supermarkets in Bahrain don't seem to have heard of it
  • I like to use trader joe's hummus or laughing cow light cheese wedge. It sounds weird but it actually works haha

I use Nayonaise which I get at whole foods. I'm not vegan but I do like the taste very much. This is from the ad:

Nayonaise is a vegan alternative to mayonnaise. Made from expeller pressed oil, it is a good source of vitamin B12 and Omega-3 ALA and has only 40 calories per serving. But it’s not just healthy, it’s delicious! Find it in the spreads aisle.

I have 2 that I use. I use them for tuna fish too:

If I really want mayo, I found one that is really low cal:

    Kraft Mayo w/Olive Oil - It is 35 cal, 3 fat & 2 carb

If I want something different than mayo & also adds a slight flavor, I use:

Drew's All Natural Buttermilk Ranch Dressing - only at local health food stores or online

I had been using Drew's because it is so much lower carb than other Ranch dressings. However, it has more calories & fat -
    130 cal, 14 fat & 2 carb

But it is awesome with tuna fish! I've even used it in deviled eggs. :)
