Hello! I'm a college sophomore and determined to be a healthier, happier me!
I became extremely depressed from ninth grade to my junior year and gained 50+ pounds over those years. My peak weight was during my freshman year -- 214 lbs at 5 ft, 4 inches.
I have been dieting and exercising since July and I now weigh 165 lbs. I am looking not only to lose this weight and keep it off, but to be healthy about it. I want exercising to become integrated into my daily routine. I want to not be able to go without it. I want to be able to run and feel that "runner's high" that people talk about.
Just losing the weight that I have already lost has made me feel more confident, happy, and energetic.
I suppose a goal for me would be to be 120-130 lbs by the end of all of this.
More about me ... hmmm ...
I am a musician; I play the flute and am in my college's marching band. I'm also working in our school's library. I intend to major in biology and go to grad school.

I always tell my daughter... what works for some people, may not work for you... you don't HAVE to run to loose weight... do what YOU enjoy doing .... For my daughter..she likes zumba... sooo getting her to run with me is like pulling teeth..... but all I care about, is that she's active... so zumba it is!!! Have you tried HIIT exercises? Or tabata? They focus on high intensity workouts for a short period of time.... seems like something like that might work for you since you seem pretty busy with school and work... Google it.. even look on Pinterest for ideas of exercises to do for Tabata.... You can have a SUPER HARD work out in 30 min!! But the key is... to work your hardest in those 30 min!!! Good luck!0

The Tabata thing sounds like a great idea! I've been looking for something to get me going in the mornings and it seems like it might be a good option for me! Thanks for the advice!0
