its hard to keep track of my food calories...i make my own food, but i dont follow recipes, i guesstimate.
Yes, it's hard, but if you want to lose weight, it's one of those things that you need to do. Losing weight isn't easy. If it were, I wouldn't have spent the last decade overweight.
Get a good food scale (they're cheap - under $20; I bought the EatSmart one) and weigh ingredients when you cook. If you're making a dish like a soup or stew that doesn't have obvious serving sizes, use a big measuring cup or bowl to measure how much you've made, then calculate calories per cup (or 100 ml, or if you prefer, weigh the whole batch and figure out calories per 100 g). Once it becomes a habit, it doesn't take that much time, and the time it takes is worth it for the results.
Good luck!0 -
If you are eating too many calories that could be causing the weight gain. The question is: are you gaining muscle or are you gaining fat? Muscle is denser than fat and takes up less space so if you are losing inches than the weight gain is muscle, but if you are gaining inches it is fat.
Under ideal conditions, a woman isn't going to gain more than a pound of muscle per month without using drugs. The OP has put on 10 lbs. in a few weeks. No way that can all be muscle. Some of it might be increased glycogen and water storage, given that she's dramatically increased her aerobic exercise.0 -
You say you are eating the same amount, but are you really? Most people get hungrier when they exercise, especially if you're doing strength training. You may be overcompensating your guesstimated calories for your guesstimated calories burned and over indulging.0

i've been using my belt as a gauge...i currently use the 5th buckle...which is still the same as it was when i was at 160. Then again, i don't weigh myself at the same time everyday or with the same clothes. Most of the time when i weigh myself, it's after i drink a lot of water or after i eat. I have the weightwatcher's scale.0

you can go over caloric needs even with "healthy" foods. probably harder to do. but it is possible
are you pregnant?
I would suggest start using the food diary on here and track as best you can
weigh things out and list them so it will give you an idea. a set of ballpark numbers to work with0 -
i think i will try that. it'll be hard, but i'll do it.0
