Niggles - when to run when to stop

Hi everyone

I have a few mild niggles at the moment probably due to getting back into running. The funny thing is its not really sore while running more the next day around the inner ankle bone. Is this something that can be run through or do I have to hang up my shoes for a few days and maybe get on the bike instead??

    Only you can really judge how bad it is and if its worth continuing to run on or you need to rest it.

    Get it checked out, you don't want to cause long term damage.

    have you been fitted for your trainers or did you just buy them yourself in a sports shop??

    I would say deff get it checked also go to a running shop to get properly fitted as you could have a arch variance that's putting undue pressure on your ankle

    If in doubt-rest. Also, in my experience, if you're on a deficit, running always seems to cause me niggles and injuries. Keep it aerobic/easy, and maybe swim fast instead? When you're on maintenance (and high nutrient foods) then you can push it more. Get properly analyzed at a sports shop too, it's only a few bucks...

    The general rule I like to follow is that if it's enough to be of concern it's enough to require some type of treatment, even if it's only a day of rest and ice.

    All runners have occasional aches and pains and it takes a while to be able to differentiate which ones are more serious.

    Have you been increasing your training volume significantly? You may just need to dial it back a little to allow your body time to adapt.
