Hello everybody. I am a fitness instructor at our local Y and I joined because I need to lose 10 pounds. With the holidays, I just have been eating too much, too often. The pounds just crept in.. I do workout consisitently about an hour a day (5-6 d/ week) primarily group fitness ( step, kick, cycling, zumba) . I do know what I needed to do.. Add stength training 2-3 days/week and track my calories. I am a believer of weighing myself everyday.. therefore I can tweek my intensity in working out or adjust my diet. I admit I have been slacking on the above strategies..
I know 10 pound is not a lot.. but I do want to feel good in my pants.. I really refuse to buy bigger clothes and I want to look good! Ten pounds is really a lot to carry working out..Id rather not compromise my joints. Besides our members at our Y look up to me and I want to inspire them. So if anyone can relate, I do hope we can inspire each other..

You are looking at losing about the same weight as me which i gained over christmas!
Last time i lost weight i ate lots of fruit and veg and drank over 8 glasses of water everyday and tried not to eat past 6 !
Im not sure if catabolic foods are true either but they never did me any harm and managed to help fill me up a bit more!0 -
Welcome! I am working on 5 lbs myself, I think we all face the same struggles and the support is what makes this site so fantastic.0

I have realised with losing weight before that the less you want to lose the harder it is to diet because those last few pounds are so hard to get off! :explode:0

I know its so much harder, but my mind is on track right now.. Ive been successful before.. the new year is the time to start fresh..before I know it its spring ! I hope you keep it up..0

Hi, I've joined as I really need to loose 10 kilos. I've slowed down my fitness routine and unfortunately the weight has crept up behind me!!!! literally.0

This is fantastic! I'm motivated and you guys are helping my inner drive. Yesterday was my official first day, I was really good with my food intake. At the end of the day I was proud. I am more in tuned with what I put in my mouth. When dinner time comes, I still had 600 calories to consume and that was good because I ate smaller meals throughout the day and the exercise gave me more points on my alloted calorie intake for the day.
My exercise routine has been predictable over the years. Step 2/wk, kick 2/wk, Zumba 1/wk. (Weight training I slack.. I usually am bored doing it or dont make the time.) .On weekends, I do something fun like Zumba. Recently, I have replaced one kick with cycling. What I need to do now is lift weights..eat a healthy balanced food, monitor my calories, drink water, and weigh myself consistently.0
