Almond meal at Whole Foods was $10 for around 2 lbs. I had to pass on that...too expensive.

You can always make your own. Just wait for almonds to go on sale at your local bulk food store then stock up.

Thanks for the suggestion. Would I just grind the almonds up in a food processor?

You can also save on the fat, calories, and cholesterol but replacing the 2 eggs with a flax substitute. You just mix 2 Tbs of flax meal with 6 Tbs of warm water until thick to equal 2 eggs. Plus is sneaks more whole grains into the crust without loosing Omega 3s.

    Great tip!!

Thank you for this. Have you ever tried it with egg white instead, or would that be gross?

I just found this and tried it tonight! It is AMAZING! I have a lot of food allergies so I have been excluded from the pizza world for quite some time. I used a pesto sauce and it great!

Low carb, gluten free and DELICIOUS! Can't remember where I found this recipe, but it came from a Paleo site.

    2 cups Almond Meal/Flour
    2 eggs, beaten
    2 teaspoons Olive Oil
    1 teaspoon salt
    1/2 teaspoon dried basil
    1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
    1/2 teaspoon ground oregano
    1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Preheat oven to 176° C (350° F). Combine all the ingredients and mix together. If the dough seems too wet, you can add a little more cheese or almond flour.

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and put the dough in the center. Top with a second sheet of parchment paper and roll out to your preferred thickness. {This dough is super sticky, so don’t forget the parchment paper!} Can be rolled out super thin to make a huge pizza.

Bake the crust for 12-15 minutes until the edges are golden brown. Then add desired toppings and bake another 15 minutes or however you like it.
Yes Thank You,& I like that someone tried it with the egg / flax sub,
