Lean Protein vs. Whey Protein?

Hi! I am trying to include more protein in my diet as it is a struggle! Is lean protein (like chicken, turkey, etc.) going to do more for my body than whey protein? Does my body process them differently? Or is one better than the other?
At the end of the day, is protein, just protein?
Thanks!

Your diet should include protein from multiple sources. Milk, turkey, eggs, etc. Your body needs different proteins. Whey protein is fast absorbing protein as compared to most. Hope this helps a little. Trying to keep it simple hah0

agree~ protein from multiple sources is best. I prefer all the protein in my meals be from a lean source. An after workout shake from the whey, as he said its fast absorbing. And cottage cheese to get me through the night as its a good source of cassien protein (slow digesting). Whey protein is ok as a meal replacement in a pinch as are protein bars, but only when there isn't a better option, or I'm just short on cals and protein. Thats my approach to meeting my protein goal.0

As long as you are getting enough it shouldn't make much difference where you get it from or when you consume it.0
