Having a really hard time eating good food.

I don't know why I am having a hard time eating good food. It's making me nauseous to the point where I put off eating until I feel like I'm going to pass out...Anyone else experiencing this??

Sounds like your definition of "good food" is food you don't want to eat. That's no way to lose weight. Try something else to eat and see a doctor/nutritionist to get a better idea of "good foods" for you and whether your problem is more than just a "good food = stuff I dont want to eat" problem.
  • You can lose weight eating foods you like. Just eat less and stick to your calorie target. No need to force yourself to eat foods you don't like.

    define "good food"

just eat food and hit your calorie and macro goals. start doing some research on proper nutrition and you can make adjustments as necessary if you aren't getting enough of something. there's no need to back yourself into the "good food/bad food" corner...all that will happen is that you will fail.

Is it because you don't like the taste? What is your definition of "good" food? What do you like? What is it about your old food that you feel like you need to let go of it?

Start with what you like and if it is laden with calories/fat/whatever you don't want, google a new way to fix it. Keep tweaking the recipe til you like it. Though I cannot stand it, there seems to be an MFP cult that can turn cauliflower into anything. Search there. Since I don't like it, I don't eat it, even though I'm pretty sure a cauliflower breadstick has more nutritional value than the one I get at a restaurant. I eat the one at the restaurant and log it.

Log what you are currently eating and then decide to change one thing, if you are just starting out or are having issues.

Yeh, broccoli and cauliflower are horrid things so I don't eat them. I can get those nutrients in something else I enjoy.

More than likely the same reason people that eat mostly good food, can palate bad food.

Pick food that you like eating. You will not, I repeat, WILL NOT keep weight off if you lose weight by trying to force yourself to eat nothing or mostly things you hate. Even if, by act of supreme willpower, you force yourself to stick with this eating plan you dislike so much long enough to lose the weight you want, you will abandon it (will power isn't infinite), and you will start overeating again since you won't have developed any familiarity with what size portions of enjoyable foods you can eat and maintain your desired calorie balance.

Read nutrition labels. Buy a food scale, weigh things. Log calories. Don't obsess over good food/bad food and try to force yourself to eat only good food which you hate. That's suffering for nothing. eat food you like, but less. That will solve the problem. If you're worried about your micro nutrients (vitamins and such), and that's why you feel you must try and choke down food you don't like, try eating smaller, side portions of those foods, preferably dressed up in something you like. Otherwise, don't waste time on a doomed effort; control portions of foods you like, and have some shot at success for the long term.

Edit: To answer your question, I actually did experience this way at the start, like in the second week of trying to loose, before I even tracked calories, let alone joined this site. I tried making myself eat salads as a meal. I didn't like salads all that much, but I figured "hey, people say you eventually get used to things you didn't like", so I plowed ahead and made myself eat salads. About a week later, I realized that I don't like salads, diet or no diet. Like, if my options are "no food" or "salad", I'll just skip eating level of don't like. My solution was the above; I stopped trying to force the issue. I'm down 114 lbs as of today, I still haven't forced myself to chow down on rabbit food, and all is as right with the universe as it can be.

I suppose it would be wrong of me to observe that she hasn't come back, and to wonder if she tried to eat something "good" and passed out?
