NSVs keep me going

The Scale has been stuck and bouncing up and down a few lbs lately. I'm easing into maintenance, as I have about 10 lbs to goal--err 1 more pants size- so I'm ok with going slow (most days-lol) So these NSVs really keep me motivated:

Last Saturday- I RAN 5 miles! (Ok- so i galloway walked every 4th minute,- but i count it!) I'm not a runner, but man, that felt great! Planning another 5 mile run tomorrow.

I Bought me some leggings to run in--- got home, pulled the tags off, and realized I'd grabbed a small instead of a medium. THEY FIT!!

I think the best nsv is seeing the way my weight loss, and exercise is extending to my family, My oldest joined the cross country running team at the high school, and is pushing me to run a half marathon with him in June. My middle ds is training for a mile race at his school, and even My youngest-8 yr old, has been out running with me these past few weeks.

All NSVs are awesome, but being such a positive role model for your kids...I think that beats them all! Because you are having fun and challenging yourself, they have started to do the same. What a priceless gift your have given them! :flowerforyou:

Taking the slow and steady (and healthy!) approach does mean sometimes that pesky number on our scale doesn't properly represent all the work and dedication we've put into new, healthier lifestyle. Without NSVs I know I would fall back int old habits because I'd feel like I've failed. But those little changes; pants fitting looser, needing a belt, friends noticing your weight loss, etc. are all big reasons for me to keep going even if I plateau for a week or more, or even gain weight.

Sometimes it seems that my NSVs are more important than any other progress I make. :)
  • You may have added more muscle than you ever had when you were your old base clothes size perhaps...

Which leads me to wonder, is it worth loosing that to be that 1 size skinnier or are you already hitting a more healthy weight for yourself?

Whatever you decide, a bit of food for thought??
  • Ohh and your doing great & getting your family healthy too!! Perhaps just keep up the good work and if more weight wants to come off it will, but not so much to worry about now, time to enjoy the results...
