Get acrylics applied. Its too tough to chew through & should curb you of the habit by the time they grow out. Okay, they aren't great for your nails, but hey if you don't have any to begin with :ohwell:

I tried that at 14; I quickly bit all the polish off as they bugged me.

i did that too then i got the nail polish in my teeth so i tried fake nails which i couldn't bite or take off but i learned to take the pain and would be able to rip them off which hurt like a mother.

You started 3 topics about nail biting. I think you might want to invest in therapy or spend time around little kids. I used to bite my nails from the time I was young until I was in the military. When I had to spend 3 months not being allowed to touch my face (during boot camp) it broke the habit. Try reprimanding yourself internally for putting your hands near your face (even to adjust your hair or scratch your nose.

Dr. told me to have my son put aloe on his fingers to get him to stop biting them. Aloe taste bad I guess.
My dad used to bite his nails down till they were in the nail bed. His nails were half the size of what they should be. One day he decided he was going to stop. He started by picking 1 finger at a time to stop biting. He now has normal nails.
