Tips to curb overeating at night?

I'm new to the MFP community so I apologize if this topic has already been discussed. I notice that my biggest problem is that I tend to overeat at night. I have little trouble eating healthy and appropriate portions during the day, but in the evening I start to crave and often give in. This negates my good work during the day because when dinner is done I've eaten all my allotted calories for the day.
For context, I'm a graduate student so I am usually up late doing schoolwork. I've tried drinking water or tea instead but it hasn't really worked yet.
Any tips or thoughts appreciated : )

I also want to overeat at night, but I found if I have an apple and some grapes I am pretty full and forget that I want to overeat..Plus I make sure I don't have any unhealthy foods in my house. My fridge broke down last month and I had to throw everything out, which turned out to be a good thing, when I went to replace the spoiled foods I only bought healthy stuff..I hope this helps..0

Perhaps your calories are too low or the foods you are eating aren't filling enough?
If not, maybe intermittent fasting may help. Depending what your lifestyle is like, if you had an 8 hour eating window from 12-8pm or something, then you should still be full in the evening before bed.0
