I'm back again

I've decided that this is it. My time to shine! I'm going to be 40 in July & I want to be FIT at 40 not FAT at 40. I bought a treadmill & have begun walking everyday, I've got myself all set up on here & I'm in the right frame of mind to meet my goal. Like most people, I've tried to lose weight in the past & I've failed. Not this time. I've done my homework & I'm ready. I'm hoping to lose 50 pounds by my birthday (July 5th) but my goal weight is 150. I figure if I can reach a smaller goal first, that larger goal won't seem so tough. I'd love to know about some of you. What kind of obstacles have you overcome during your journey? How do you deal with the tough times? We can do this if we all help each other!

    hello,

Welcome back! For me, I've found that even though I may not be eating well I should still track what I eat. I think the worst case scenario is that I won't gain back the weight. This has been correct for me. I am officially back on track as of November. I never truly left but I want to loss an additional 5 pounds before Thanksgiving. When I started, I set me goals small. I was always happy for each additional pound loss. Although I am only three pounds away from my original goal, I have decided to loss an additional 5 pounds from my goal weight of 150. Good luck to both of us!
  • Hi Laurie, I'm back again as well. Just turned 44 and had a light go off last week. I am really seeing how my diet and lifestyle impact every part of my life,....so like you I have a newfound commitment to this weight loss journey. I have about 30 pounds to lose and I have discovered once you hit 40 it's really about diet more than excercise. We really are what we eat!
Feel free to add me and best of luck to you!!!!!!

I'm back too. Last year was a mess for me with my father having a major stroke. He's doing okay now so I can focus on me. Feel free to add me if you want.

Hi Laurie, I started and stopped logging and tracking more times than I can count. This time I had my goal and my reason and it's working. Part of that was turning 40 this past June, I figured better do this now before it becomes too hard. I have just 6 pounds to go! I can certainly be supportive to anyone who needs some support. It's tough getting back on the bandwagon. Add me if you wish.
