PMS but no period. One for the ladies.

Hi,

Finding this odd and hope to get advice.

I'm on Yasmin pill...have been for many years. This month I've not had my period which is surreal. All pills taken fine as usual. I even felt PMS symptoms when I normally would but nothing else happened. I'm really concerned. I've started running a lot more recently and have been a bit stressed but his has never happened before. My period is always very short, 1-2 days and bit that heavy, and near the end of my pill free week. So I'm due to start my next pack tomorrow.

Any thoughts on this?

A lot of PMS and pregnancy symptoms are similar... are you sure you're not pregnant? The pill isn't 100% guarenteed. I knke a girl here who got pregnant during a recall because she hadn't heard about it, which was very unfortunate. I agree with the previous poster to see your doctor asap to figure it out.

I'd be pretty shocked if I was. It's the fact that my PMS symptoms came at the exact time that they normally do.

Call the doctor to be on the safe side but for what it's worth, I had the same thing happen to me last month and I'm on aviane, I was wondering something similar about the combo of stress and intense exercise since I'm quite sure I'm not preggers lol.... Unless immaculate conception has become possible :)

Yeah I'm going to try see my doctor. I've been stressed and my running is more than I've ever done before. I'm eating quite a bit so I can't see it being diet related.

your body might not be used to running so much, and increased exercise can cause one to miss periods, even when eating enough.

This is what I was thinking. Just seems quite odd how I've changed that and this has happened.

Mine's gone missing to for the first time ever except for when I was pregnant and I don't know if it's diet related or peri-menopause :( Weird.
  • Stress and changes in your exercise routine can cause you to skip, even if you're on the pill. It's happened to me.

Take a pregnancy test if you missed your period week completely, and if its negative, go to the doctor and get a blood pregnancy test to be sure. If thats negative, ask your doctor for further medical advice.
