We all know it's hard to see yourself as other see you. Especially after a drastic weight change. I never really noticed it until my wife showed me this cellphone pic she took about a week ago. I was like 'Whaaaaa?' thats me?" Dang.
Here's me about 18 months ago, 190lbs.
Here's me last week after dropping over 40 pounds, In the neighborhood of 148lb:
and
I was shocked by the difference in my face and arms.
As an added bonus I had a semi-professional body comp test done today using a skin-fold caliper, and it came back as 10-12% BF.
I actually laughed and told the guy (who used to work at the Olympic Training Center and claims to have done 5000+ tests) that he must have gotten it wrong. He did it again with the same results....I'm flat stunned.

I'm actually from Central AZ, and spent alot of my teenage years running the trails of the Canyon. I can definitely sympathize with you.
As for hiking here in CO, this was the same trailhead 1 year later. May of this year....I weighed about 165 in this...25lbs down from the red shirt. Needless to say, we pretty much packed it up and headed home.

Well done, what was your plan!
I started by just using MFP set to a 1lb/week loss. I didn't change one single thing about my eating habits. I just ate less food. Then I started running again.
For example I rarely ate a bacon-ultimate-cheeseburger. I'd eat 2 peanut butter and banana sandwiches thinking they were healthy. And they are... but they're also 400 cals each. And I'd wash it down with a big glass of milk...another 200 calories. Boom. a cool thousand calorie lunch.
I also started running, first week I ran like 8 miles total. then I increased it by about 8-10% each week, and every 4-5 weeks I'd drop it back and run about 60% of the previous week. Worked on increasing my pace. Did a little fartlek running. Mostly added mileage.
I started doing a few sets of push-ups, pull-ups, dips, and a little time in plank after my runs. I do yoga about 1 day a week for flexibility and 'cause I like it.
That's about it. Eat less food, run lots, do a few body-weight exercises.0 -
Very impressive, good job.0
