Water intake - what is 1 cup of water?

Hi guys & gals...
I am troubled by logging my water intake. What is 1 cup of water actually? Is it just 1 measuring cup or another measurement? Sorry if this sounds super silly but I am unsure.
I generally drink from a 24oz water bottle. How many cups would that be?
Thank you

1 cup is 8oz. Therefore, 24oz is 3 cups.0

8oz. The recommended intake is 64oz, which would be a little over two and a half of your bottles. I used to drink mine like that. Now I have a big 32oz bottle. even easier ;D0
-
1 cup = 2.5dl0
-
I'm not sure if you're serious or not, but in case you are - 1 cup = 8 ounces, so a 24 oz bottle = 3 c of water.0

8 oz or 240 ml0

For those who don't have all these measurements committed to memory, the easy thing is just to google the names of the units and the word "converter."
Google "ounces cups converter" and just type the number of cups you want to convert to ounces.
Google "cups ounces converter" and you can get the opposite calculation.
Works great for grams/ounces, liters/cups, miles/kilometers, farenheit/celsius, etc. I use it all the time.0 -
dani,a cup is 250mls. x0

you know, sometimes people with higher intelligence will over think things that are easy to figure out because they are so used to things being more challenging. you should think about that before you try to make someone look stupid..0 -

Guys, maybe she could have pointed it out in her post, but looks like she's used to the METRIC system, thus "cups" might be a little "wtf?" for her. Thanks to those who noticed and gave her the correct conversions.0 -

ok well to my knowledge this is supposed to be a SUPPORTIVE community.. not one that makes someone feel like an idiot for asking questions that seem trivial to other people0 -

I don't try and make people look stupid.
People often don't need any help with that.0 -

here, since we're all mean, have a unicorn.
This is a supportive community. Google helps with conversion of many kinds.
fluid ounces to cups, ounces to grams, etc.
I'm helping give the OP a resource for future use. Again, calm down. It's okay.
Google, you know, is a search engine. This is a forum to ask questions. They asked a question, we gave them a tool to help them with trivial questions.0 -
Thanks to all those that posted in a nice manner, that was super helpful. And yes, I am not so used to using cups as a measurement hence my question.
To all those that tried to belittle me:
Wow, harsh much?! I gotta say that I am not stupid. I may not be hardcore 'theory' minded, and know everything there is to know about certain measurements, but hey, we can't all be perfect right?! I do however know that I am NOT going to be giving my patient a cup of medication. Pretty sure that I'll be giving that in mcg, mg, g, ml so you know what you can do right...
Thanks again everyone, I now know where I am in terms of logging my water consumption :flowerforyou:0 -

You calling my mother a liar?0 -
Yes Capt--and that explains a lot.0
-
I get confused because I am in the UK and we don't use cups, we use metric measurements, if I have an american recipe, I usually google it, because I can never remember0
-
That's why I never ask anything on the forums!!
good that you had some nice answers!!0 -

It IS supportive. But after all, it is the internet, and you get all kinds.0 -

Definitely must be new to the internetz huh?0 -
Wow. Some of you are nasty *kitten*!! I wondered this too - a cup to me would be a pint! So clearly for someone calorie counting you'd need to know exactly. I'd have been entering 1 cup when intact it's 2!! For someone on a strict daily water intake it's important to know for sure.0

If youre seriously serious lol Google it! People ask questions on MFP as if its ASK.com just google it, and if youre trolling cut it out!!! That's no NICEEEE! LOL0

No kidding.
Now what does MFP MEAN when they say cups? That's probably what the OP was asking.0 -
