Hello everyone I'm having a maxillofacial surgery today (2 wisdom teeth remonal) and the doctor told me I should stay away from cardio ... I'm really concerned because I do crossfit 4 times a week and staying in bed doing nothing for 5 days sounds awfully lazy... Any advice about what can I do on those 5 days at bed? Thank you!!!

Do what your doctor told you. Avoid cardio. If he said five days of bed rest, take five days of bed rest. If he said avoid exercise, ask if walking would be ok... and if so, don't cheat by doing it so vigorously that it becomes cardio.
It's five days. That's nothing. Recover properly from your surgery.0 -
I guess I'll be okay for five days, I just don't want to go back to crossfit and feel like a noobie again (When I skip a day, I get a little more tired than usual)... Thanks for your help0

I also recently had two wisdom teeth removed and was also instructed no serious cardiovascular exercise for 5-7 days. I go to the gym/workout 6 days or so a week so it was a bit unpleasant, but you can still go for long walks if you just feel the need to stretch your legs or get some kind of exercise. But don't do anything that elevates your heart rate too much.0

I just had 3 wisdom teeth extracted and you aren't going to want to be doing any serious cardio because it will be AWFULLY uncomfortable. Go for walk or do some light stretching. I had a hard time finding something to eat that didn't cause me agony so I think you'll be alright!0

Uhmm....he's a doctor - he has no vested interest in you getting fat and lazy, so I suppose he is saying no cardio because there is a MEDICAL reason behind it.... So do what he says - or deal with the results - I can promise you that fainting and a bleeding mouth won't make crossfit any more fun than usual - and your crossfit buddies won't like it either....0

You aren't going to lose your conditioning because you miss 5 days of cardio--you will likely have a lower calorie intake due to the surgery anyway.
Follow his advice, ask what you can do (walking, stretching, strength training, light weights?), and jump right in when he gives the ok.0
