I unfortunately can't help you but I am looking to lose a similar amount (a little more truth be told) and would like to see if anyone posts.

Your 18..... Why rush it..... You didn't put it on over night and you certainly have a lot of years left to live so make your weight loss sustainable, don't set an arbitrary date on your weight loss. Just live your life eat within a modest calorie deficit and lose it the right way... Best of Luck

I agree with taking your time. If you can lose a pound a week, you're doing great, IMO. Some things that I've discovered along the way:

When I first started losing weight, it was important to only weigh myself weekly. I started weighing in daily but the daily fluctuations were stressful and often derailed my diet.

I started out small regarding activity. I did 20 minute home DVDs for months, then hired a personal trainer, then started running, added bootcamp, etc. Increasing activity was a very gradual process. I do recommend some activity, as tolerated. You may not even want to be active right away, just concentrate on your diet and that's fine, IMO. When you start losing weight, your body will let you know it wants to move more.

Don't let yourself get too hungry. Enter your data on the settings section here on MFP and figure out how many calories you need, then eat them. If you get too hungry, you're likely to go off plan.

Don't look at your goal as losing 100 pounds. Consider it losing 10 pounds, 10 times. Celebrate every 10 pound increment.

If you binge eat, or have a dysfunctional relationship with food, address that. Some people can do it alone, others need some form of therapy. It's going to be hard to lose 100 pounds if you don't figure out how you got to be 100 pounds overweight to begin with.

Be kind to yourself, forgive yourself for not being perfect 100% of the time. Life will never be perfect 100% of the time, you need to learn to stumble and get back up (because it's going to happen a lot).

Congrats on taking the first steps and good luck (actually, luck has nothing to do with it but not sure how else to end!).
