Has anyone tried doing yoga for weight loss? What were your results? I follow a healthy diet and would be doing the yoga 3 times a week, with a good run once a week (it is very hot this summer so I haven't been doing my running!)

It's certainly not for the calorie burn. I think it does make me more body conscious though; I'm doing something "good" for me. Yoga helps me sleep better too... less stress. So I think it helps somewhat.

I still do cardio & strength training .... yoga (for me) is a small part of fitness.
Can you run indoors? ....... maybe a rebounder (mini trampoline)0 -
I would not have believed yoga could be used for weight loss until several months ago when I was referred to a new program. I concentrates on "reshaping" your body and helps increase muscle which replaces fat. You can check it out at www.topyogaprogram.com.0

My strength gains, cardio efficiency and general well-being is largely due to daily home practise of (Anusara and Power types) yoga and two classes per week to maintain correct form, pace and alignment.
My weight loss comes from eating at a slight deficit and ensuring my macros (fats, proteins and carbs) are well balanced.
