Somewhat New, but time to get serious!

Hello! My name's Kristina.. I'm 34, work part-time, have two small children, and my hubby works 3rd shift..

I had gained 40 lbs with my son, and was having a heck of a time trying to lose it but then got pregnant with my daughter. Thankfully, I was very strict and only gained 20 with her, so I lost that right away. My major hangups are mocha frappuccino's, chocolate and ice cream.

A co-worker joined me in an "unofficial" Weight Watchers diet, using tools we are finding online or from when she used to be in it, but I am still giving in at night, after my kids are in bed and i want a tv snack for an episode of SVU or two before bed.

I definitely want to drop the 40, but to get into my healthy weight range, I need to drop at least 75. I would love the partnership and support if you're following a similar diet or have similar stats..

Right now, I'm focusing on eating smaller, lighter meals (points wise), and building a food list of what I know I can go to for meals and snacks, mixing in low-sugar fruits and a few veggies. I've never been a soda drinker, but instead of coffee (so I don't add creamer, I'm trying different teas..)..

Hope to meet a new friend or two!

  • Hey There... I was in almost the exact same situation after the birth of my 2nd son (16 months now). MFP works if you use the app, and track EVERYTHING you put in your mouth! lol You can still eat little candy (Thankfully) but the calories do add up. So far I have lost 28 lbs steadily...nothing over night, but I feel like my mindset has changed and I WILL be able to maintain the diet I have developed for my self.

So welcome... I'd loved to be friends and help support each other :)

Hello Im Swet, Really tried doing diet for so long but always fails. But now, I am more serious since I found out that I already have type 2 diabetes and we are still on the process of wanting to have a baby. What can I say, I am high risk, one, it is genetice since my father have it too and two, my lifestyle, really have sweet tooth.

Just hope this time I will be successful...
  • MFP is so easy but you have to WANT to commit to do it.... a 3 helpful hints I was given...

***Keep you Diary Open, it's easier to keep on track if others can see**
** You can eat whatever you want, your only pushing back your own goals if you go over your calories**.
** Make your goal weight loss per week reachable, losing 2 lbs a week sounds wonderful but its to big of a change to fast **
  • Hello Swet... I'm on all the time lets be friends and help each other :)
