I keep seeing the Insanity workout in the ad bar on MFP...any MFPers try this yet? If yeah, any advice? I have quite a few workout DVD's, just collecting dust at the moment until I pych myself into doing them...I do not want another dust collector! Thanks for any feedback!

I wouldn't purchase the program if you are currently letting things get dusty without trying them out first. It's fine to try something and not like it, but if you're collecting them and not doing them.... you may not be ready for both the time commitment and the money commitment that is insanity. I would probably start with some cheaper Jillian Michaels HIIT options, youtube Shaun T to see if you enjoy his personality/would like to work out with him, and if you enjoy those things, then purchase Insanity. I just don't believe in shelling out $120 to find out you may not enjoy something.
With that said, I absolutely love Insanity. I feel like with Shaun T, I have found a trainer who motivates and inspires me.... which was half of my battle. I lost weight, inches, and really upped my cardio game thanks to Insanity.
In fact, currently, I am using Shaun T's other program, FOCUS T25, as a way to inspire me to also complete p90X.(Tony Horton doesn't inspire me as much as Shaun T.... so combining them makes me feel like they are long lost BFFs or something)
Also: another thing to note, if you have joint problems, i recommend focus T25 over insanity because there is a modifier to show you how to do a low-impact version that will still get you great results. If you have knee problems/joint problems, Insanity is pretty rough! Not impossible (I have patellar tendonitis and ankle problems from a time when I sprained both sides of the same ankle), but it's rough!

Insanity is a cardio workout. The results you will get as far as weight loss will be directly related to your calorie deficit, not the workout itself.
It is a good home workout, kinda fun if you are into jumping around and cardio0 -
It is intense and best done by those that are already pretty fit. There is a lot of jumping and it can be hard on your knees and ankles, so if you have any problems with those joints, it's probably not a good workout for you. Also, if you live above someone else the jumping might be a concern.
I'd suggest checking out the Beachbody site or an infomercial where you can see clips of the workout. This will give a better idea if it's the kind of thing you are looking for.0 -
It's an excellent workout, and gets results... but you need to be motivated to do it every day which can sometimes be tough, because it it really kicks your *kitten*. If you're someone who struggles to find that motivation, I wouldn't waste the £100.
I would agree with what the person above says, take some time to watch the infomercials firsthttp://youtu.be/H6lbvC17OEk

Thanks for the feedback! I really appreciate it...I will definitely watch the vid and decide whether to do it...may not be as much of an IF as a WHEN but you are right...very expensive paperweight LOL I better get through the ones I have on hand...not to be sarcastic but they have inspired me if not to do them at least to get to a point where I CAN or WILL. Great advice!0
