Back on the Wagon

So I started MFP about 6 months ago but got tired of having to count my calories and watch everything. With a lot of stress and a move I decided that I had to do something for me and get this weight off. I have been at it for about a week now and I am doing much better. I'm not tempted by the things I used to be and I am hitting the gym 6 days a week. MY first weigh in will be Saturday and I am really excited for it. Only problem is that I have gained about 20 lbs since originally joining MFP, so when I start to lose from where I am it wont start showing up that I have lost anything until I get down to that original weight and I know losing 20 lbs could take months. I feel like I am going to be so discouraged to not see that number in my ticker go down even though I am losing weight.

Anyone got any ideas how I can avoid the slump of not seeing my numbers move or a way to change my original starting weight?

  • Congrats on starting over--it's hard to do some times. Even though you're starting over and the numbers might not be where you'd like on the ticker, you should be really proud of yourself for seeing your numbers dropping from right now. The ticker is only a picture on the computer--the slack in your pants or favorite dress is real, and those are the small things that should boost your spirits. :)

You can change you start weight if you log in on the website site for to my home > Check in > go to the bottom of the page and click edit previous entries and they will have an option for starting weight on there for you and you can enter your current starting weight. Looking for supportive friends. Anyone feel free to add me!
