I'm curious when you breakup with someone do you keep the gifts your ex gave you. I'm talking about jewelry and things like that.

Lol. I would never give the stuff back.0 -
A guy in college took me out to this real expensive dinner for my birthday last year and gave me this gorgeous skeleton pocket watch necklace. He quickly got the boot when I found he was flirting with my brother's girlfriend. I'm a one-strike-you're-out kinda girl. Needless to say I still have the watch, just one of the spoils of war :happy:0

Right? I have an ex who bought a ceiling lamp. A lamp from IKEA. It was $25. When I broke up with him he showed up at my door wanting his $25 lamp. He was acting crazy so I called the police. The police came and told him to leave. He yelled at me, "Any lawyer on the PLANET would say you have to give it back to me."
Ha ha. Yeah, buddy. Get a lawyer. I'll see you in court.
Then I took the thing down and threw it away and bought a nice ceiling lamp.0 -
I kept the jewelry, but the inexpensive stuff like stuffed animals and such I'd either give it to my little siblings or donate it to good will.0

My sister's friend took it all home with her. She asked if she could, I told her go for it, as long as she burnt one of them in our backyard first > : D0

I was given a beautiful, thick, gold bracelet by my ex. He had the nerve to ask for it back. Nooo way!! It's mine. Or at least for a while, I pawned it. I enjoyed doing that, as evil as it sounds.0

I've never broken up with anyone who has given me jewelry.0

Gifts are gifts. The exception is an item like an engagement ring. That goes back.0

Keep them, unless its some cheap trash anyway.
You'd have to be really messed up in your head to ask them back!0 -
I've broken up on good terms with most of my exes and always try to give back anything expensive. They've ALWAYS acted hurt that I'd suggest such a thing and insisted I keep whatever it was. I have several items of jewelry just taking up room in my jewelry box. They're fun reminders of the past, but nothing I would wear currently.0

One time a man I was dating gave me a beanie baby flamingo. Then we broke up. Then I started dating my husband. Then he wanted to go back out with me. But, instead I got married, had kids, and gave the flamingo to my kids.0
