Anyone with anorexic tendencies trying to change?

Hi there (:
I have anorexic tendencies, I've been consuming approximately 400 or less calories a day, sometimes in negatives. I joined some other sites, but they're all "pro-ana", or "triggering".I don't want that! I want a good change! Took me a lot of time to join this, but the community seems very nice, i hope this helps
I'm looking for friends who have issues like i do, and would like to change to a positive, more healthier life-style,

Friend us older ladies.
I can't speak for the masses, but I had those tendencies, too, when I was younger. Age adds some perspective. Don't spend your good young years battling yourself. It's not worth it. I swear.
You look gorgeous.0 -
Thank you very much, it definitely is extremely troubling ;( Think my life is pretty much a disaster now0

I have anorexia but I'm recovering and my food diary is open if you want to look into it. Feel free to add me0

No judgement here. I struggled with eating disorders starting in middle school, throughout high school, and up until a few years ago. I was able to overcome them after seeking professional help. My struggle with alcoholism on top of an unhealthy relationship led me to my recent weight gain over the last year or two. With the support of my friends and family, I am finally able to live a balanced happy and healthy life without the need to spend hours upon hours at the gym, purging or starving myself. So glad to hear you're looking to make a change. Ill do my best to try give as much advice and support I can. Don't give up. Your are worth more than that. You only get one body and how you treat it now is going to affect you for the rest of your life.0

I fully recovered about 8 years ago. Good luck! Take back your life!0

I had been diagnosed with anorexia, bulimia, and EDNOS in my lucky lifetime, starting when I was only 8. I'm now much better, I was in recovery for the 4th time before I got pregnant last December. My daughter is now 10 weeks old and I'm doing things the healthy way. I'm completely determined to keep myself in line this time. I have a family to do this for! Feel free to send me a request, no negativity here!0

I recently developed a love-hate relationship with food starting last year, probably the most stressful days ever, and now it's getting annoying and worse, I'm glad you had the support and help from family and friends - on the other hand, I LOVE my family and friends, but none of them are supportive...They encourage, at times, my weight-loss, and if i ever choose to over-eat (over-eat as in eat a healthy amount) they discourage it, my parents, on the other hand, do not encourage starving or eating unhealthy, but they are unsupportive in the way that, if they ever catch me eating junk, they would point out that im "fat" and need to lose weight even more, which makes me feel like ****...and then boom, bad eating habits.0 -

Amazing recovery and thank you!0 -
I am a college student and have begun to slip back into my eating disorder. I'm in a constant cycle of recovery and relapse.
It's important to stay away from toxic relationships, because they are directly correlative to self-esteem and therefore eating habits. Hating my body has led me to pursue a destructive relationship with an older student, and I've lost approximately 15 lbs in the past 3 weeks or so that I've been with him. While I put lots of effort into building him up, he has never told me that I'm beautiful and that sort of thing can really do a number on one's head.
Also, try buying clothes that fit you comfortably, regardless of your weight, in order to feel good about yourself. I always keep various sizes of clothing on hand so I will have clothing that fits me at 100 lbs or 130 lbs, since my weight usually fluctuates in that range. If I'm in a size 4 when I'm 110 lbs I feel like a slob, because the clothing is baggy. So I keep sizes 0 to 6 in my closet instead of giving them away like I used to.
If you like looking at 'thinspo,' stop. Don't follow the gymnast on Instagram. Don't tempt yourself with that -- you'll inevitably end up triggered.0 -
I have struggled with anorexia.
Some days I still have to convince myself that not eating is what caused me to become morbidly obese.
At 312 lb. I finally woke up and did some serious research.
What I have learned is
1. Weight loss IS 80% what goes in your mouth and 20% how much you move your body.
2. You MUST eat to lose
3. There are no short cuts
4. Learn to love yourself just the way you are right now.
5. NEVER eat less than 1500 calories a day.
Since Feb. of this year, 2013, I have lost over 60 lb. following this strategy. It absolutely works!
Yes, I still weigh myself every day but I count that as a partial victory... at least I'm not weighing every few hours anymore0 -

I watch thinspo like men watch porn. It's terrible, it's very triggering, mostly all of it is enhanced and edited too.
I'm sorry to hear you have slipped back into your ED, are you receiving help?
My boyfriend broke up with me a week ago, my food-issues have progressively gotten worse since he dumped me.0 -

I'm sorry you struggled with anorexia! I think the hardest part of this ED is convincing yourself that you must eat to lose weight, it's opposite for me, i convince myself eating will make me gain, no matter how many success stories i see, the problem is, i think i can never have a healthy success story.
If there are no -short cuts, why does it work for many anorexic women? they are dead-thin, thinspo, it worked for them0 -
Yes - starvation will work, but it harms your body. Eat good, healthy, whole food. No one gets fat on 1200 calories of nutritious (not processed, prepackaged crap) food.0

I so totally recognize this! When I was younger I was also struggling with it, weighing too little. When I was 38 or so my hormones suddenly went berserk making me gain, instead of loosing weight. Only last year I noticed I was dealing with bulemia instead and here I was thinking I had beaten the eating issues.
I know I can be very harsh to people who eat too little, this is not to hurt their feelings, it's meant well, because I know what it can cause. Don't go there, it's not worth it!0
